"I am constantly humbled and in awe of the people I serve in disability group homes, with Autism, and while supporting them in 504 meetings. I understand what it’s like to be in their shoes because I am one of them. I see their parents and I see my own. I’ve discovered a special power, and that is empathy. "
"My dream is to work as a pharmacist and advocate for widely accessible counseling to reduce substance abuse. I live in a low income household and I struggle with IBS and patellofemoral pain syndrome, which makes my goals harder to achieve.”
"As a future nurse, my prayer is to better understand patients and ask God to strengthen my knowledge and hands as a gift to help others who are fighting for a hope to live. Thank you for choosing me as your WLP scholar!"
